January & February: What have I been sewing?

Updated: Mar 29, 2020

In January I didn't get sew as much for myself as I hoped. It seems to be a recurring theme that my motivations drops at the beginning of the year. But regained with the last days of January.

I wanted to sew up a sample for the updated Intro to Jersey course and forgot that I really liked the pattern. I ended up sewing 5 t-shirts in the a week or so.

I sewed up another Myosotis Dresses by Deer & Doe - hear all about my first version in this blog post. The second dress, I made in a Chambray and kept the skirt piece simple without the extra ruffle and changed the sleeves again. I love the idea of ties on sleeves. It gives the dress a cute look and interesting feature. I have a third one cut and the bodice is sewn - only sleeve and skirt are missing. This version is in a Rayon Challis, so a bit lighter than the crepe version which worries me a bit on breezy days.

As part of my #makenine2020 list ('sew for him'), I made a fleece jacket. There is a pattern review already on the blog. I am happy with the end result, getting had a few issues involved!

I also sewed up 3 t-shirt samples for Little Intro to Jersey, two dresses for an upcoming photoshoot and four samples for a new 'confident beginner' course. So keep your eyes peeled for that!

I think I am ready to start sewing my jeans or blazer - in my head at least. I think I will make a start with getting the pattern ready and make small steps to achieve this goal this year.

What have you been sewing this month? What are your plans? Comment below.

Thanks for hanging out with me.

Happy Sewing,

Maria
