June & July: What have I been sewing?

After a successful first couple of days in June, I managed to add, not just two but seven t-shirts to my wardrobe. I absolutely love the Deer & Doe Plantain tee that I wrote a very quick pattern review about it. Over on the pattern review, you can see all seven t-shirts, here I am just going to post my favourites.

The leopard print t-shirt will only be night t-shirt for sleeping; mostly since grey isn't my colour but I love the print and in your dream you can wear whatever colours and prints that you want 😉

The cream and black/navy striped t-shirt will only be a loungewear t-shirt too. The fabric, assuming the black/navy stripes, bled terribly in the wash and pretty much ruined the fabric. It is a shame, especially since it is an Art Gallery Fabric and the money you pay for their fabrics, you wouldn't expect this to happen to them.

Both black and white t-shirts have definitely missing and therefore a great addition to my wardrobe. I have been wearing them so much that I might need a second pair. Also, wouldn't it be great if you could print your own designs on it ... here is a thought!! 😉

As planned, I have also finished my Arden Pants by Helen's Closet in our dark blue Chambray. They look like jeans but they are not. But they are super comfortable!

For my birthday, I planned to make a new dress but unfortunately I run out of time. Since my fall at the end of last month, I have been taking it slow. I had planned to make another Pleiades Dress from French Poetry. I wanted to remove some of the excess fabric around the armpit, just above the bust area by changing the gathers to pleats. I also lengthened the skirt. Once it is done, I will share a picture with you.

I started the toile of the Roseclaire dress by Cashmerette. It is a lovely wrap dress. Although my bust size isn't in the Cashmerette's size range, they have a size calculator on their website. All you need to do is, put your measurements in their calculator and it tells you what size including their cup size, you have to select. It also told me that I need to do a 1" small bust adjustment. How awesome is this? What a fantastic idea to take the maths away but tell the sewist exactly what they need to do. Fantastic!! I haven't finished the toile yet but will share more about it once ready.

I tried out a new pattern for a button-up shirt. I want to make a few more of these. I decided to try a new pattern which hopefully is a bit more fitted around shoulder and bust, unlike the Alex Shirt. The drop shoulder, which I tried to change before, doesn't suit my figure. What else ... maybe make another Myosotis Dress because you can't have too many of them 😍

What have you been sewing the last two months? What are you sewing plans? Comment below.

Thanks for hanging out with me.

Happy Sewing,

Maria
