In this weekly club you will build confidence and work on a variety of sewing projects.

What will you learn?

Join one of the Kids & Teens Afternoon Sewing Club. In the beginner club, we choose the projects together and for the more advanced sewist, they get to decide what they would like to make.

You will get more comfortable around the sewing machine, straight lines and gain more confidence with all things sewing.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is suitable for children aged 9 years and above who have completed* the Kids Sewing Bee or Teenage Maker workshop. I like to keep workshop sizes small, giving you lots of one on one time and the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like. The maximum workshop size is 9.

* Or made similar projects like we sewed in these workshops.

When is the weekly club?

Weekly afternoon sewing club will be scheduled as following:

Monday - Teens (above 13 years)

Tuesday & Wednesday - Kids (above 9 years)

Thursday & Friday - Mixed Group Kids (above 9 years) and Teens (above 13 years)

Sunday - Kids (above 9 years)

Sewing sessions start at 4:30 PM during the week (from Mondays to Thursdays). On Fridays we start at 3:30 PM. On Sundays we start at 10:00 AM. Each session is 2 hours.

What is included in the course? And what do I have to bring?

All materials are included and you just have to bring yourself. You are welcome to bring your own machine.

Level: Confident Beginner

  • have used a sewing machine before

  • can cut or pin fabric

  • can thread a sewing machine

  • can sew straight lines and follow a seam allowance

  • made projects such as tote bags, drawstring bags and simple toys

Club Length/Price:

  • 5 sessions of 2 hours, AED 900

  • 10 sessions of 2 hours, AED 1,620

Can we bring our own machine?

Yes, that is always encouraged since it is best to practice on your own machine. As you know, we have a range of Brother and Bernette sewing machines in the studio. If carrying a sewing machine is too heavy, you are welcome to request a specific machine/model for your kid(s) and we will sit her/him on this machine (subject to availability).

What happens if my kid(s) can't come due to sickness, homework or travel?

That's not a problem, you won't loose a session as long as you let us know in advanced. Please let us know by 12 PM the same day, otherwise it will be considered a late cancellation. In the event of a no-show or late cancellation, we will deduct a session from the prepaid set.

I only want to send my kid(s) for one session.

Most projects take more than one session to finish and we want to give each child enough time to complete each step without being put under pressure. In the past, we also had no-shows and therefore require a little commitment from your end too. Every session requires planning, material purchases and it all costs us money. Please support us by understanding our reasons and we therefore have two different sets of sign ups: 5 or 10 sessions.
